This is what we did this past summer...

The Annual "Young Artist Scholarship Program" will begin accepting applications in early 2012. Eligible students are from Central Oregon who are classical music students and are planning a career in the field of classical music and ages 11 to 24 (through Master's Degree).

Each year, classical music students from Deschutes, Jefferson, Crook and Harney counties submit a comprehensive application, complete with letters of reference, personal essays, school transcripts and a selected repertoire of music representing three different classical periods. Applications are due in the Music Festival Office by 4:00pm Friday, April 20th.  Auditions will be June 1st, 2nd, & 3rd.

First time applicants must also submit a recording of two prepared pieces for review by the seven-panel adjudicator committee before being selected for an audition. CD or Tape is due by March 30th.

A total of $28,550 in scholarship money was awarded to deserving music students between $100 - $3,500 to go toward music camps, private lessons or tuition.
